Inspired by the Black-tailed Godwit, our poet Linden McMahon created a session where people could learn about this rare bird and create poetry. This poetry was then written onto block images of the bird and put together into beautiful hanging mobiles that people could take home with them.
Black-tailed Godwits
In coastal lagoons and estuaries, or a few wetlands such as the Washes in Cambridgeshire, you might spot a large wading bird with an unfeasibly long, straight beak. The female’s beak is longer than the male’s – which means they don’t compete for the same food.
