Learn how to identify and survey rare arable plants.
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers!
Arable plants are the fastest declining suite of plants in the UK. You can help reverse this trend. We are looking for volunteers to survey arable plants in Wessex. This event will provide you with all of the skills needed to identify rare arable plants and carry out surveys.
An introduction to arable plant identification and the survey methods we will be using as part of Colour in the Margins.
Arable plant identification will be supported by identification keys and crib sheets and a site visit to Cholderton Estate will provide opportunity for practice in the field and to see some of the special arable plant species found here.
Everyone welcome, beginners to expert.
Full training will be provided on the day.
