Location:
Lyveden New Bield, Lyveden PE8 5AT
Date: Monday 3rd June
Time: 3.30pm - 10.30pm
As part of our Roots of Rockingham project, we would like to offer you this wonderful opportunity to take part in some bat monitoring in the Rockingham Forest area to identify and quantify the species that are present and gather data for our target bat species, Barbastelle and Brown Long-eared. Attendees will be trained on how to carry out a woodland survey, how to use bat detecting equipment and how to plan a transect route.
In addition training will be provided on how to carry out a National Bat Monitoring Programme Roost Survey on a brown long-eared roost, followed by an opportunity to carry out a practice roost survey.
Once trained, all attendees will have all the necessary skills to monitor other sites throughout Rockingham Forest. No previous bat surveying skills needed. All equipment will be provided.
This is a free event but booking is required. For more information and to book contact Liz Morrison:
