Location:

Fineshade Woods: SP981983, Corby NN17 3BB

Date: Thursday 15th and Friday 16th August

Time: 11am - 4pm

As part of our Roots of Rockingham project, join us for a guided walk through Fineshade Wood, learning about the rare species that live there – including the Chequered Skipper Butterfly, which has been successfully reintroduced as part of a project by Back From The Brink having being extinct in England since 1976!

Then get stuck into some art and creative writing, lead by writer Katherine McMahon, to make a fanzine (DIY magazine) about the species you've found out about. Expect fun writing activities, collage, and lots of materials to get creative with!

On the afternoon of the 23rd, return to Fineshade Wood with your friends and family for a celebratory zine launch, complete with readings from the zine and copies of the booklet to take home. Plus arts, crafts and poetry activities for all!

Suitable for all ages – no experience necessary. Everyone welcome!

Walk and zine-making: 11am – 4pm, Thursday 15th and Friday 16th August(you don't need to attend both, but you can if you want to!). Meet at the Main Courtyard outside the Top Lodge Café, Fineshade Wood: SP981983 (Postcode NN17 3BB). All day parking £4.

Zine Launch: 1pm – 3pm, Friday 23rd August, Top Lodge Café, Fineshade Wood (no need to book)
