Very little is known about the Noble Chafer Gnorimusnobilis in the New Forest. Over the next two years we will be undertaking surveys to improve our understanding.

We are looking for volunteers to help survey trees, search for beetles and check pheromone lure traps in the Forest.

This one day workshop run by Buglife and People’s Trust for Endangered Species, will provide an introduction to Noble Chafer ecology, survey methods and conservation.

A morning indoor session will be followed by a site visit to an area of The New Forest managed by Forest Enterprise England to see and discuss potential habitat and survey methods.

This workshop is aimed at people who live locally to the New Forest and are able to offer more time towards this incredible species.
