Thursday 8th February 10.30am-3.30pm

Ring Haw Field Station, Old Sulehay Nature Reserve, Sulehay Road, Yarwell, Peterborough, PE8 6PW.

This training is aimed at anyone who would like to get involved in helping us survey and record the project’s target bird species across a number of sites within Rockingham Forest.  With several bird species and lots of woodlands to survey, we are looking for lots of willing volunteers.

The workshop will provide an introduction to the project; the identification and habitat requirements of the target bird species: Willow Tit, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Lesser Redpoll, Marsh Tit and Spotted Flycatcher, and the survey techniques we will be using.  Surveys will be able to be carried out by anyone with basic birdwatching skills and interest in monitoring birds in woodland.

Part of the day will be spent indoors and part out in the adjacent woodland. Everyone is welcome to this free training event. Booking essential.

For more information, or if you would like to attend, please contact Susannah O’Riordan, Back from the Brink Rockingham Forest Project Officer.
